So let’s get to it!
Google’s New “Web” Filter For Search Results
Another new update from Google. They have rolled out their new “web” filter for search results. This allows users to view only text-based webpage links, streamlining user experience. Catering to those who prefer a simpler, text-focused search experience like the early days of search engines. The straightforward approach is available on both mobile and desktop as of writing.
It is particularly beneficial for those needing longer-form text documents or more in-depth knowledge, those who have limited internet access or simply those who prefer a text-based result. This filter is part of their broader strategy to offer more personalised and efficient search options.
Danny Sullivan, Google’s Search Liaison has this to say about the announcement:
“We’ve added this after hearing from some that there are times when they’d prefer to just see links to web pages in their search results, such as if they’re looking for longer-form text documents, using a device with limited internet access, or those who just prefer text-based results shown separately from search features.”
For us at Move Ahead Media, we’re interested in updates such as these for several reasons. This filter can shift how users interact with search results, adapt our SEO strategies to leverage this new filter and inform more inclusive marketing strategies.

Pros Of Tracking Email’s Long Tail To Measure Success
Maximising ROI – that’s what we all want. Tracking the long-tail performance of email campaigns is often overlooked. Well, we’re here to change that. We should not focus only on immediate results for accurate attribution. Conversions and interactions usually occur weeks or even months after the first email is sent.
A case study provided by MarTech shows that extending the tracking period has significant benefits. The data shows an increase in the recorded transactions and revenue. It’s a good practice to revisit your campaigns over a longer period. By adjusting your timeframes, you might get a better picture of the email performance and justify increased budgets.
Admittedly, some campaigns, brands or products won’t have long tails. A flash sale will yield different results than a seasonal campaign. Here is where A/B testing will be useful, but it’s not a bad thing to try!

WordPress in 2025. What Should We Prepare For?
In a recent “Build and Beyond” video, Jamie Marsland and Nick Diego of WordPress speak about the next year. They share exciting developments in store for developers, agencies and freelancers alike.
Stay tuned for upcoming features like site editor enhancements and new data views for better content management. It will also be made extensible to extenders, which plugin developers can capitalize on and add their own content.
They also advise that leveraging blocks should also be a focus. Creating block-based themes and plugins, including editable pages and posts in the site editor. This is the future of WordPress.

First Google, Now Reddit. OpenAI’s impressive partnership moves.
Reddit soars after announcing OpenAI deal that allows the use of its data for training AI models. This comes after OpenAI did a similar partnership with Google in February.
As part of the deal, Open AI will gain access to Reddit’s Data application programming interface (API). This provides real-time, structured and unique content from Reddit. With the announcement, Reddit shares surged 11%.
“Reddit has become one of the internet’s largest open archives of authentic, relevant, and always up-to-date human conversations about anything and everything,” CEO Steve Huffman said in their release. “Including it in ChatGPT upholds our belief in a connected internet, helps people find more or what they’re looking for, and helps new audiences find community on Reddit.”
This deal only shows that Reddit’s user-generated content becomes a valuable asset. It highlights the significance of diverse and rich content sources for AI development. Collaborations between these tech giants set a precedent for future deals and just show how far AI can go.
